Friday March 12, 7:30 Pm New York-born, Sarasota-based Susan James is a prolific singer/songwriter whose lyrics chronicle the vicissitudes of love and the absurdities of life. She is playing at

Whatever the subject matter, she aims for an up-tempo and melodic musical experience, including influences from folk, blues, country, and a little bit of rock.

She also totes around a big book of favorite cover songs, including some from Dylan, Raitt, Ronstadt, Baez, Collins, Mitchell, Eagles, Browne, and many other notable tunesmiths from the 60s through the 80s.
